Like many older pools this one was built with a deep end at 10ft depth. That used to be great, but now we know that it is much more expensive to maintain and rarely needed. Some of the old equipment was either obsolete, or had failed, and needed removal and replacement. The decking was not terrible but with the planned improvements the owner opted to address it now rather than later.
Our goals were to bring the pool up to structural standards and also to provide the family with a great new pool area with features that both the kids and parents will enjoy. With some selective adjustments to the old design we were able to create a large Cabo shelf for lounging, shallow play, as well as easy entry to the main pool. We added steel reinforcement and raised the depth to a much more manageable 5ft level. The equipment was updated to current standards and we added plumbing, electrical lines, and connections where appropriate. The entire deck was also removed and replaced with new one. Finally, we helped the clients select beautiful waterline tile that was carried over into underwater accents and a sparkling textured sandstone finish throughout.
By making smart, cost-effective edits to the old design we were able to provide the family a remodeled pool that felt like all-new construction. This pool should provide them with worry-free play time for years to come and be much more efficient to run.
