Swimming Pool Resurfacing

Swimming Pool Plaster has an average life span of twelve years.

Replastering is indicated when you begin to notice:

• Pronounced staining and discoloration
• Black algae problems
• Rough surface from etching or calcium buildup
• Surface blistering and spauling.

C & R Pool Plastering Inc. uses the following procedure to prepare your pool for refinishing.

1. Pools are drained after treating the water with thiotrine to ensure no chlorine reaches our rivers and lakes. City of Roseville requires a special permit for draining swimming pools.
2. Waterline tile and all pool fixtures are undercut to allow sufficient room for new materials to finish flush with the tile.
3. New safety codes reqire replacement of suction covers to be VGB(Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act) compliant.
4. The relatively soft old plaster is then blasted away to a hard substrate.
5. A bond coat is then applied. The idea is to get a surface similar to the original gunite shell. C&R Pool Plastering Inc. uses Multicoat to provide the best mechanical and chemical bond available.
6. A decorative tile outlining the steps and benches can be set if desired.
